A crisis is looming in the country’s health sector after more than 100 doctors and medics resigned in the last three months, citing poor working conditions and delay in payment of salaries by various county governments.
Operations in some county hospitals have almost ground to a halt even as dozens of patients remain unattended. Tharaka nithi and Embu counties are the hardest hit losing close to twenty doctors and now the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) is asking Kenyans to brace themselves for the worst. .
