Tanzania: Kikwete Scheduled to Address Parliament

Dodoma — President Jakaya Kikwete is scheduled to address a special 10th Parliament as the Head of State and Government on July 9, this year.
His address of the fourth phase government will come ahead of the Parliament's official dissolution few weeks later, according to the government notice.
According to the time table released on Monday by the Bunge office, the president's address will be the last one since Parliament is expected to go on recess on Thursday and then be dissolved.
It means the president would address the Parliament and bid farewell to legislators. The time table shows that five more Bills will be tabled for debate starting tomorrow and possibly be endorsed by MPs.
They include 'The Whistleblower and Witness Protection Bill, 2015, that will be tabled for debate after question and answer session on Wednesday.
Then on Thursday to Saturday, the time table shows that MPs will debate 'The Petroleum Bill, 2015' 'The Oil and Gas Revenue Management Bill, 2015 and 'The Tanzania Extractive Industry (Transparency and Accountability) Bill, 2015.
Sunday will be a rest day and on Monday the MPs will continue debating the three Bills before taking a break on Tuesday to mark the Tanzania International Trade Fair (Sabasaba).
The session will resume on Wednesday, with question and answer session in the morning and later proceed with the 'The Teachers Service Commission Bill, 2015.'
